Jeremy Newell

Jeremy Newell is complicated.... Ex preacher and gospel singer, drifting country boy in a big city, a compass without a needle, he carries his baggage and sets it down firmly in his music - he's sometimes sad, sometimes angry, and sometimes just happy to be alive.

An accomplished guitarist and singer, Jeremy writes songs with an americana, alt-coutry and blues feel, drawing much inspiration from City and Colour, Jordie Lane, Feist, Father John Misty, Ben Harper, Blake Mills, Ry Cooder and Cat Power.

Often collaborating with other Brisbane artists such as Kate Woodhouse, Pat Tierney and Ronaldo Januario, Jeremy's shows are rarely the same twice, but always have a healthy dose of honesty and passion.
