Nelson Lance Donsky is a Brisbane based Visual Artist known for his connection to the festival community in particular the Burning Man festival and their regional events. Beginning his festival involvement at Woodford volunteering as a sign maker and eventually even Burning man itself Nelson is the Visual Arts Co-ordinator for Modifyre (a regional Burning man Event) as well as The DIY Festival 2016. Before being vis arts coordinator for The DIY Festival, Nelson won an award in the DIY last year as a contestant for his painting Higher Ground. Nelson’s decision to be an artist was informed by a severe burn he experienced whilst at the Burning Man festival in 2013 after attempting to assist a fellow performer working with fire. Since then he has dedicated himself to art in the utmost, studying Art History at QUT, coordinating art at festivals and volunteering at them plus avidly making art in his own time.
